Netflix’s Castlevania has always mesmerized its viewers with its intricate lore and charismatic ensemble of characters. A delight for both video game aficionados and show enthusiasts, the universe expanded yet again with “Castlevania: Nocturne.” Despite its gripping narrative, the debut season left a cloud of mysteries hovering. While the next season might shed light on them, fans can’t help but speculate about the transformations in the Castlevania realm since the heroics of Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage) and his allies.

    The Unforeseen Entry of Alucard

Alucard (James Callis) marks his dramatic entry in the closing moments of Nocturne’s season finale, thwarting a looming doom for the lead characters. Despite the previous episodes portraying Drolta Tzuentes (Elarica Johnson) as the ultimate nemesis, Alucard eliminates her effortlessly. This brief confrontation underlines the power disparity between the two series’ casts. But why did Alucard delay his intervention until such a crucial juncture? There are hints that he might have infiltrated just before the portal’s closure. Given that Nocturne borrows elements from both Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night, one wonders if Alucard’s interactions with the Belmonts in the series mirror his game collaborations. The continued existence of Juste Belmont till the season’s end hints at potential revelations in the forthcoming episodes.

The Enigma of the Belmont Chronicles

Post the tumultuous events of the original Castlevania, there’s curiosity around the recovery of the Belmont chronicles. The initial series saw Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso) move Dracula’s Castle atop the Belmont Keep, which was instrumental in turning the tides against Dracula’s legions. By the series finale, Alucard establishes a settlement around this keep, safeguarding its treasures for posterity. Yet, accessibility remains a concern. With no direct entry to the library beneath the castle, these invaluable assets might remain untouched. The passing of over three centuries between the two series could be a clue to another burning question.

    Richter Belmont’s Inexperience with Monsters

Distinctly setting Richter Belmont apart is his limited expertise with nocturnal creatures. His initial interactions with them depict a mix of confusion and inexperience. This contrasts sharply with Trevor Belmont’s adeptness in the original Castlevania. The plausible explanation could be Richter’s ignorance due to the inaccessibility of his family’s manuscripts. With Alucard now on Richter’s side, Season 2 may address this knowledge gap.

The Fate of the Morning Star

The Belmont family’s legacy weapon has been the sanctified whip, known in the games as the Vampire Killer. This ritualistic inheritance is evident in Netflix’s adaptation, with successive Belmonts wielding it. However, there’s intrigue around another potent weapon – the Morning Star. Recognized even by the formidable Dracula, its proximity to vampires causes them to combust. Its overpowering impact against the Vampire Messiah begs the question of its current whereabouts. Although Trevor possesses it at Castlevania’s conclusion, the circumstances around its concealment remain a puzzle.

    In Conclusion

The inaugural season of “Castlevania: Nocturne” tantalizes viewers with multiple riddles. Alucard’s intentions, the Belmont family’s resources, Richter’s unfamiliarity with monsters, and the fate of the Morning Star are some intriguing threads waiting to be unraveled. Season 2 promises to be a treasure trove of revelations. Until then, the events spanning the lives of Trevor and Richter remain subjects of captivating fan theories.
