In a recent revelation, PEOPLE magazine revealed that prominent actor Tom Holland has candidly expressed his sentiments regarding the allure and hype of Hollywood. The revelation emerged from his recent guest appearance on The Jay Shetty Podcast. The actor, widely known for his role in the Marvel cinematic universe, confirmed his passion for the art of filmmaking and acting, while expressing his distaste for Hollywood’s glitz and glamour.

Holland, in the course of his conversation with podcast host, Jay Shetty, conveyed his personal take on the film industry and its frills. “Maintaining strong connections with my friends, staying grounded in my familial relationships, and learning from the lessons life has taught me have helped me remain distant from the seductive allure of Hollywood,” he stated. “While I am truly passionate about the art of creating movies, the glitzy world of Hollywood doesn’t resonate with me.”

He further added, “It’s not my cup of tea. The entire business aspect of it frightens me. Despite being a part of this business and finding some interactions enjoyable, I’m constantly seeking ways to disassociate myself from it and live as normal a life as possible.”

During the chat with Shetty, Holland admitted that sharing aspects of his personal life wasn’t characteristic of him. However, he made an exception owing to his fondness for Shetty.

In a profound reflection on his experiences with stardom, Holland expressed, “Not losing your true self has always been an underlying thought. I’ve witnessed many succumb to the business and lose their identity. Some of my childhood friends are no longer in my circle, having lost themselves to the industry.”

Tom Holland Emphasizes on Prioritizing Happiness

Star of the much-anticipated film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland professed, “I’m determined to prioritize what brings me joy – my family, friends, hobbies like carpentry and golf, and the charitable work managed by my mother. These aspects truly contribute to my happiness, and they deserve to be safeguarded.”

The actor further confessed his efforts to stay out of the limelight when it’s not necessary. He elaborated, “I consciously try to remain inconspicuous. If my presence at an awards show isn’t required, I won’t be there.”

Expressing his views on attending glamour events, the Crowded Room lead stated, “I abstain from attending any red carpet events unless I am a part of the featured film. I prefer not to attract attention when it’s not needed.”

Holland also shared that despite his ability to manage the various challenges that come with leading roles in movies and TV shows, he relishes the opportunity to take a breather from the entertainment industry.

The star of Uncharted elaborated, “I make the most of the industry while I can, but when it becomes overwhelming, I tend to retreat. I take a hiatus and head back to Kingston where I indulge in golf, tennis, hang out with my friends and family, participate in the local pub quiz, and other such activities.”

In concluding his interview, Holland confidently affirmed, “As I age, coping with it all only gets simpler.”
