Since its premiere in October 2021, the CBS sitcom “Ghosts” has been garnering unexpected and commendable acclaim from viewers. This show, an adaptation from a British comedy bearing the same title, concluded two successful seasons and has recently been greenlit for a third run. Throughout its first two seasons, the series swiftly secured a firm standing as one of the most-viewed new comedies on CBS, boasting an average viewership of 7.76 million per episode. The second season experienced a surge in viewership with over 9 million tuning in each week via linear TV, and more than 11 million across all platforms, according to data from CBS. Provided these figures persist, it’s plausible that “Ghosts” might emulate the extensive popularity of its British predecessor. The anticipated third season is likely to inject a fresh element of intrigue into the lives of the Arondekar family following the suspense-filled ending of Season 2. The lead couple of the show, Sam and Jay, portrayed by Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar respectively, manage to retain possession of Woodstone. Nevertheless, they could potentially have lost a member of their newfound spectral family. The identity of this mysterious entity remains concealed from the viewers, and it’s predicted to play a significant role in the unfolding narrative of Season 3.

As we eagerly anticipate the return of the Arondekars to accompany the amiable neighborhood spirits on another riveting supernatural journey, here’s a comprehensive rundown of everything we’ve gleaned about “Ghosts” Season 3 thus far, including the cast, plot, and more.

When Can We Expect “Ghosts” Season 3?

Numerous television shows and movies have been impacted by the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, leading to postponements and even cancellations of their release dates. “Ghosts” Season 3 was not immune to these strikes, which has left fans in suspense regarding its premiere date. Initially, the third season was scheduled for airing on Thursdays at 8:30 pm ET/PT during the Fall 2023, but due to the strikes, CBS has been compelled to revise their plans.

Where Can We Watch “Ghosts” Season 3?

“Ghosts“, being a CBS show, airs on the network and streams on Paramount+, where you can also find previous episodes of the series.

Has a Trailer for “Ghosts” Season 3 Been Released?

    Ghosts 2

Regrettably, no. “Ghosts” Season 2 wrapped up fairly recently in May 2023, and the show was renewed for a third season even before it aired in January. Since then, no further updates have been revealed about “Ghosts” Season 3. The strikes have also prevented any filming for Season 3, which means it could be a while before we see any teaser or footage from the forthcoming season. Until then, you can enjoy a clip from Season 2 to keep the spirit alive.

Who Are the Minds Behind “Ghosts” Season 3?

“Ghosts” is an American adaptation of the original British comedy series created by Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond for BBC. Joe Port and Joe Wiseman developed the American version for CBS Studios. The executive producers include Port, Wiseman, the original creators, along with Martha Howe-Douglas, Alison Carpenter, Debra Hayward, Alison Owen, and Angie Stephenson. Jeff Cardoni will be returning to orchestrate the laugh-inducing melodies of this spooky comedy series. The third season of “Ghosts” is being crafted by Joe vs Joe and CBS Studios, in collaboration with Monumental Television, Them There, Lionsgate Television, and BBC Studios America.

What Occurred in “Ghosts” Season 2?

“Ghosts” Season 3 is anticipated to pick up from where Season 2 dramatically ended. The ghostly inhabitants find themselves embroiled in a chaotic scenario as they attempt to solve the century-old mystery of Alberta’s murder. The revelation of Hetty’s son being the culprit sends shockwaves through the group, and Hetty’s prior knowledge of this fact further strains her relationship with Alberta. After an intense confrontation and subsequent punishment, the two manage to reconcile, but a new challenge soon unsettles Woodstone.

An unknown heir, supported by fabricated DNA evidence provided by the conniving lawyer Dan, shows up, claiming ownership of the Arondekar property. However, Sam and Jay cleverly debunk the identity of this so-called heir and see through Dan’s manipulative tactics, regaining control over Woodstone. As they sigh in relief, a glowing light rises from their home and into the sky, indicating that one of their spectral housemates has found peace and moved onto the afterlife. The identity of this ghost remains a mystery (Jay humorously hopes it’s Trevor), setting up an intriguing premise for Season 3.

Who’s Included in “Ghosts” Season 3 Cast?

The majority of the original cast from “Ghosts” Season 2 is slated to return, except for one actor whose identity remains a mystery. The endearing duo, Samantha and Jay Arondekar, enacted by Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, respectively, return as the lead characters. Samantha, a freelance writer, acquires the ability to see ghosts after a near-death experience, and Jay, an unemployed chef, provides unwavering support to his wife. The spectral residents of their new home include Trevor Lefkowitz (Asher Grodman), Pete Martino (Richie Moriarty), Susan Montero (Sheila Carrasco), Alberta Haynes (Danielle Pinnock), Captain Isaac Higgintoot (Brandon Scott Jones), Hetty Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), Sasappis (Román Zaragoza), and Thorfinn (Devan Chandler Long). Similar to Season 2, “Ghosts” Season 3 will also feature a host of guest actors, whose identities will be revealed in due course. So, make sure to keep an eye out for those updates!
