Netflix’s emblematic Spanish series, Elite, is preparing to bid its viewers a heartfelt goodbye. A mere two days prior to the much-anticipated launch of its seventh season, the streaming giant made a public declaration on X (formerly known as Twitter), revealing that the captivating teen drama will culminate with its eighth season.
The journey of Elite’s renewal for an eighth chapter commenced back in July. However, the announcement at the time was devoid of any indication that this would be the final bow for the show. Our attempts to procure a statement from Netflix regarding this have been initiated.
As the narrative unfolds in the upcoming season, audiences will be introduced to fresh faces – Ane Rot, known for her role in Killer Book Club, and Nuno Gallego from UPA Next. Meanwhile, Mina el Hammani, a familiar face from the initial three seasons, will make a triumphant return, reprising the role of Nadia, adding a sense of nostalgia as the story progresses towards its grand conclusion.
This engaging tale, sprung from the creative minds of Carlos Montero and Jaime Vaca, first graced our screens in 2018. Set against the backdrop of a fictional high school, Elite intricately weaves the lives of three working-class scholars who find themselves amidst the opulence and high standards of an elite education establishment, courtesy of a scholarship program. Their interaction and relationships with their affluent peers form the crux of this gripping drama.
The ensemble cast bringing this riveting narrative to life comprises a mix of new and familiar faces. Ander Puig, Carmen Arrufat, Álvaro de Juana, and Ana Bokesa are joined by Álex Pastrana, André Lamoglia, Valentina Zenere, Carla Díaz, Martina Cariddi, Adam Nourou, Manu Ríos, Mirela Balic, Fernando Líndez, Gleb Abrosimov, Ivan Mendes, Alejandro Albarracin, and Maribel Verdu, each contributing their unique flair to this emotionally charged drama.
The brainchild of Zeta Studios, Elite has not only entertained its global audience but also delved into social themes and relationships that resonate with many, making it a standout piece in Netflix’s repertoire.
