A revival of epic proportions seems to be brewing in the Marvel realm as Jennifer Garner is reportedly stepping back into the shoes of Elektra Natchios in Deadpool 3, nearly two decades after her initial portrayal. In a recent reveal by The Hollywood Reporter, the rumour mill churned out that Ben Affleck might make a cameo as his Daredevil rendition under the direction of Shawn Levy. Now, adding to the excitement, news has surfaced that Garner will be reprising her legendary role from the Marvel Comics Universe.
Garner’s Stint as Elektra: A Quick Throwback
Garner first breathed life into Elektra Natchios in 2003, sharing the screen with her then-spouse, Affleck, in Mark Steven Johnson’s directorial venture. The film’s reception, however, sparked a polarized discourse over the years. The actress reprised her role in the 2005 standalone film ‘Elektra,’ which, disappointingly, failed to create the anticipated stir.
Fast forward to recent years, fans were treated to a fresh rendition of the character in Netflix’s The Defenders universe. Elodie Yung took up the mantel of Elektra, sharing screen space with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. To dodge repercussions, Wade strikes a bargain with the TVA to assist them in a multiverse-spanning mission, crossing paths with different iterations of Wolverine portrayed by Hugh Jackman, diverse X-Men actors from over the years, and potentially other superstar faces from the superhero genre.
